Hott Trend #5...Head Band + Hijab

I gave it a try it looked cute...so i thought id share it with you

So because its racing carnival time in Aus all the shops are selling pretty headbands and guess what we can get in on the fun to if you be a little creative..

The type of hijab style you wear obviously dictates wether or not you can wear the head acssesories over hijab

the hijab is pinned at the back of the neck then each side is pulled across to cover your neck and chest enabaling you to wear the head band

they have heaps of sales at the moment with really cute designs around so have a look my favourite are from Diva and Equip..

what do you think?? would you give it a try?

Its all in the eyes... How to do the Cat Eye

The Cat Eye
Forget the advice you may have read in the past never to line the inside rims of eyes because it makes eyes look tiny. Sexy cat eyes are a cool look for night. The key to this look is to apply a thin line to the inside rims of the lids.

Step 1: Holding the skin of your upper lid taut, dot liquid liner along the upper lash line as close to the eye as possible. Apply line from corner to corner of eye, extending the line upward at the outer corner of eye. Let liner dry for a few minutes before touching.

To soften this look ,InStyle Magazine suggests trying a smudgeable pencil in a lighter color like dark brown or charcoal.

Step 2: Hold down the lower lid and apply liner only to the outer three quarters of the rim. Fade out the line as you approach the tear duct, according to makeup artist Mally Roncal in the March 2006 edition of InStyle Magazine. Extend the liner upwards at the outer corners.

For a softer version of this look, use an eye shadow brush and sweep a taupe or brown color on the lower lash line.

But i adore the new trend of sexy thongs that have pretty details on them looks soo much nicer than a pair of heels under a summery maxi
I have soo many different colours all with pretty jewels on them...So my suggestion is go and get some its a must have for summer and they are very afordable :)

Pretending to be halal...

I have been eating at a certain place at my uni because it is Halal well at least i thought it was as it has framed certificates stating that the food is Halal but to my surprise and disgust its all a lie!!

Yeah you heard me!!
Ive been eating food that is not Halal thinking it is!! What the hell!! Ok so i know i don't get punished for this seeing as i was under the impression it was..

The daughter of the company that the food is supposedly supplied by is the one that made me realise it wasn't halal i was chatting to her on msn and said "oh i didn't know your family supplies that halal food at uni" and she was like " lol we don't, we supply it only for special functions" whhhhhhhhat the hell!! How can they do that you have no idea how upset i am thats such an evil thing to do, we have many international students at uni who come from countries such as Saudi and Qatar, i am betting that these people would have never knowingly ate anything that is not halal in their whole entire life and guess what they probably have now.

Inshallah on Monday we are going to confront them about this..I would really consider taking legal action as they have falsely stated something which in turn affects me on a fundamental level

:(

I found my wedding dress!!

Ok so im not engaged and no i dont even have someone in mind lool but when i was watching the Oscars and saw Penelope Cruz accept her award and do her speech i almost died!!
I thought oh my gaaaaaaaawwwd that is going to be my wedding dress!!! I am so copying it and making a hijabified version
Isnt it gorgeous!!

Wedding proposal in the form of a recepit

Part 2...you will enjoy this

Once i arrived at the Masjid for Madrasa i was releived to finally be there, there were some brothers in the Madrasa part of the Masjid which you dont see very often unless their fathers of the children...

Today their was a brother putting away books in the room i was teaching in with another sister, ok so i may have looked at him once or twice and yes i may have smiled at him but it was a "oh these kids are so wonderful they make me smile, smile" not an "oh im smiling at you because i like you" and i literally looked at him maybe for a second as he was looking at me simple really harmless i would have thought lol well i thought wrong..

So by my actions did i make him perceive me to be a sister that wasnt pious, that dosent lower her gaze and goes around smililng at random brothers everyday well perhaps because what followed shocked me..

It was time to go and my mum was waiting to pickme up so i walked down the driveway to her car and jumped in, as we were driving off a sister who i had breifly said hello to earlier at madrasa was waving at me i was sure she wasnt talking to me so i looked around and their was no one else in sight so i realised she was talking to me so i jumped out of the car and walked upto her..she was bare foot so it seemed obvious she rushed out to talk to me, my first thought was that i had forgotton something..

But then she spoke...She started off by saying "sister i am so sorry i am so embarrassed" i was like ok whats wrong sister what happened and she opened her hand to reveal a small peice of folded up paper that looked like rubbish, she said a brother saw me in the masjid and asked her husband about you and my husband asked me to give you this, i am so embarresed sister im so sorry, i was soo shocked and told her please dont be embarrased..

I took the peice of paper out of her hand an had a look.. This is exactly what it said..

GIVE ME CALL

I AM ISMAIL

L 4 WIFE

04#########

I was horrified it was written so crudley on an old petrol station recepit

I said to the sister this is not the appropraite way a brother should have approach me and that i wouldnt be calling as i do not call men..

I was so upset because i felt cheap as though i was some hoochie he tried to pick up in a bar not a masjid..

Now after hearing my story what are your veiws do you think that because i smiled and looked in his direction that i showed myself to be not pious a sister not worthy of respect or was it simply that this brother didnt handle the situation as well as he could have..

Just so you know i was wearing full abaya so it wasnt like i was being provocative

Please share your views as i am perplexed...

Whats that thing on your head??!!

Selam Alaiykum

Well i had a veeeery interesting day to say the least hahaha this is a two part story

Part 1

On my journey to help at Madrasa, i call it a journey as i have to catch three buses and a train subhanallah a Korean man sat right next to me i had no idea why at first as the whole bus was practically empty, as i was one stop away from getting off he started talking to me asking me questions about where to get off, then afta a few minutes of silence he decided to bust out with a question that shocked me a little..

ok so i have only been wearing hijab for about 4 months alhumdulilah so i haven't had many weird experiences yet humduleh, but out of nowhere he was like whats that thing on your head is it uncomfortable??

subhanallah i started laughing because he said it in a curious way and not a wat the hell way lol he knew it was called hijab which surprised me a little and then proceeded to ask me why i wear it i simply said because i want to its part of my religion..then came the "OH BUT DONT YOU GET FORCED TO WEAR IT, DON'T YOUR PARENTS MAKE YOU WEAR IT"

Omg grrrr im sooo sick of hearing that i felt like screaming in his face and being like nooooooo!! no one forced me in fact my parents wouldn't talk to me when i deiced to wear it..but i refrained from going physco at him and simply and sweetly replied that it was simply my choice and in fact my parents were opposed to my descion ..then it was time for me to jump of the bus..i thought

subhanallah now i know why he sat next to me Allah swt put me next to him so that i could help someone understand Islam for what it is and not what its portrayed to be.

When i meet people who have this whacked out view of Islam and voice it to me i feel so happy when i am able to correct them gently so that they gain a better understanding of what we believe in and that all women in Islam are not oppressed..

Dua for protection against Natural Disaster, Plague and War

Dua for protection against Natural Disaster, Plague and War.

When the Muslim Community is afflicted with some hardship then Qunoot naazilah should be recited in the Fajr Salaat.
Method: After the Ruku' of the second rak’ah, while standing in the position known as Qawmah, the Qunoot should be read aloud by the Imam. The followers (muqtadees) should place their hands at the sides or raise them and say Ameen at the proper juncture.

O Allah, guide us aright along with those who have been rightly guided and grant us safety along with those that have been granted safety and support us along with those that have been supported and add Your Blessings to what You have given us and save us from the harmful effects of what You have ordained (i.e. lest I should be wanting in cheerfully submitting to your Decrees) as You alone disposes and no one can dispose against You. Anyone who is under Your Protection cannot be lowered and anyone who is opposed by You cannot gain dignity; our Lord; You are full of blessings and most High, we beg forgiveness from You and repent before You and may the blessings of Allah be showered on the Holy Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam). O Allah, forgive us and the believing men and women and Muslim men and women, unite their hearts with mutual love, set right their mutual affairs and help them against theirs and Your enemy. O Allah, let Your curse be on those unbelievers who prevent people from treading Your path, who reject Your prophets and fight Your chosen ones. O Allah, make difficult their plans, shake their feet and give them such punishment which is not turned away from a sinning people. Aameen

My dua's were answered!!

(Mashallah beautiful hijabi sisters)

Bismillah ir Rahmeen ir Raheem

Selam alaiykum :D

Im very happy alhumdulilah

During my university holidays i made the descion to put the hijab on, when i made this descion i also changed most of my friends, changed my number and ceased contact with many people that i thought were no longer a posotive influence in my life and boy ive never been happier. But when you take such a step you need people around you that inspire you to become either a better Muslim or friends that have the same beleifs as you.

I know that many reverts face this problem trying to find friends that are Muslim, i myself am a revert so can identify with this.

So i made dua everyday asking Allah swt to send me friends that would help me increase my iman help me to become a better Muslim and help to increase my knowlegde and it seems that Allah swt has answered my dua Alhumdulilah and i am forever grateful :D

At uni there is a sister from Saudi in my class and finally we got to speak to each other and passed notes to each other in class like teenagers asking questions about one another she is very sweet, and their is also another hijabi that always smiles at me inshallah i wil go up to her next time i see her and talk to her she is an international student and i never see her with any other friends so i will definetly try to make friends with her inshallah.

A friend of mine a very good brother told me that the best way to meet other sisters is make them know who you are, make them like you lol, and when they do they wil include you in events that are for sisters only i have recently started helping at the masjid and i am hoping inshallah that i will make some new friends there :D

I love my old friends but sometimes its nice to have people that are the same as you, now my converstaions are about Islam, swapping knowlegde where as before it was about what club we were going to hit on the weekend subhanallah..

My life is meaningful now and for that i am forever thankful to our mighty creator for opening my heart and helping me to accept Islam as the truth.

Hijab made me fat!!!

Selam Alaiykum

Since i have started wearing hijab ive gotten fat, were not talking stupid girl paranoid fat were talking like 6kgs fat maybe more fat :( ok so its not my haijabs fault lol but i think it may be due to the fact no one see's my body anymore so im not concise of the fact that im getting fatter. But something seriously has to be done cause its becoming a joke...

What made this worse was a recent incident that made me cry due to my fatness lol

I know many brothers that attend the masjid and usually when im with a girl they have never seen before they will message me through facebook and ask who she was..

There were two girls that came with me on this particular day, one is the wife of one brother and the other was her friend both are not Muslim buit have partners who are, the married one is very skinny and the other i perceived to be about the same size as me.. So low and behold when i got home from Jummah i had received some messages, One was asking who the girl in the purple hijab was and that was the married one so i promptly let him know she was married, but the message that really upset me went a lil somethinng like this...

Selams who were the two malnourished girls at jummah with you, i wanted to go upto them and offer a whole spit roast lamb to them.

When i read this i got sooo upset i know it was not this brothers intention to upset me and he certainly dosent think im fat, but when i read the message it really hurt me because i perceived the other girl to be the samee size as me and then to think other people thought me to be fatter i was sad even sadder considering i know i have put on a noticable amount of weight :(

So as im writing this post my brand new treadmill is positioned about a metere away from me, but when you feel crappy the last thing you want to do is put your running shoes on and kill yourself on the treadmill, yes perhaps excersise is the best thing for me right now to pull me out of my pathetic self pittying coma and release those good feeling endorphines into my body but it all comes down to motivation at the endof the day dosent it..

Inshallah i will jump on it tonight and get the ball rolling :D

Little Mosque on the Prairie

A sister i used to go to Islamic lessons with was telling me about this show and it sounded soo funny, and then i heard more people talk about it so i thought id watch it..

Its very funny, and the hijabis that are part of the cast have a really nice style you could use it for inspiration...

Stylish Summer

Beat the heat with these cool accessories

abaya

I adore black abaya's that have subtle detailing on the sleeves, recently i bought the smaller version of the Louis Vuitton shown and think it looks super cute with abaya, a light fresh perfume is ideal for summer, i never go anywhere with out my dior sunnies and a funky watch or some bangles finishes off the outfit

Voyer in the masjid

While at jummat prayers yesterday we were all sitting listening to the imam talk before we prayed, and a lady whipped out a video camera in the women only section of the masjid!!
I was furious, there are some sisters who wear niqab and once in the prayer room take it off so they are just in hijab i was not only concerned for these sisters but for myself, whilst i do not wear niqab i would hardly want people to have pictures or video of me!!
I wanted to say something but it seemed that they didnt speak english so instead i shot a very concerned look at a sister she was with!! I was so angry, seriously what would motivate someone to do such a thing..
My father suggested that perhaps they were visiting the masjid as overseas guests and wanted to perhaps show people back home what the masjid looked like but i HIGHLY doubt that lol
Has anything strange happened to you like this whilst at the masjid??

Hott Arabic makeup

I adore arabic makeup,smoky eyes,smouldering lips
Check out the links below the makeup featured is simply amazing
If you check out youtube.com you can find some tutorials on their to show you how to do it yourself its lots of fun to experiment
i dont really like the coloured ones much i mainly stick to the darker colours on the lids and very light coloured lip gloss i sometimes even just use a lip ointment so i dont look over done..
tell me what you think =)

Does my head look big in this??

I just finished reading this book and it was great!! Funny, uplifting, and i couldnt put it down!
I was feeling a lil down so my beautiful mummy got me a present and this is what is was..
I started reading it straight away and the next thing i knew my alarm was going off to pray fajr i had read that much!
Its about a Australian/Palestinan girl trying to navigate her way through life and deals with her deciding to put hijab on and the challenges she faced amongst other things, i liked it so much as when i recevied this book i had only recently put on hijab and it was so nice to see how someone else coped with the challenges and the inner struggles. Although its aimied at teenagers its a must for any hijabi..
Im sad i finished it i didnt want it to end
